From Mods’ smooth and sophisticated looks to David Bowie’s glam rock style, the British pop culture has undeniably left its mark on the codes of street fashion. And its youthful, free spirited attitude resonates deeply with everything Bellerose stands for.
In a photo shoot carte blanche, photographer Elodie Daguin, stylist Maud Dupuy and model/fashion blogger Elsa Muse revisited our fall/winter 2015 collection in a 70’s atmosphere in Paris, mixing today’s fashion trends with the long-lasting influences of Swinging London.
Inspired by Mod’s graphic style, this collection offers a dynamic wardrobe, which plays on textural contrasts and the prevalent opposition between masculine and feminine.
When asked about the choice of the title, Elsa Muse says: “We called this series "Dancing with the big boys" in reference to David Bowie’s song and to highlight our favorite piece, the bomber jacket. Because even if we don’t see it distinctly in the pictures, there is the face of David on the back of the jacket. It is so beautiful!”
The Mickey trousers are inspired by 50’s men’s costumes. In addition to being comfortable, they have character. In this case, combined with the Dulaan oversized knitted jumper, which has its own share of graphic elements, they attain a perfect balance between volumes, textures and colour mixing.
